A NOTE FROM

Our Chairman

"Thank you for your interest in the Lighthouse of Houston and in the agency’s mission to improve the lives of blind and visually impaired individuals and their families. The Lighthouse of Houston has an established reputation for providing meaningful and comprehensive services aimed at maximizing functional independence, enhancing quality of life, and improving employment opportunities for the thousands of blind and visually impaired children and adults we serve every year.

As our population ages, individuals in our community become more at risk of developing visual impairments, especially as a result of macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. These individuals will face visual impairment that threatens to erode their independence and quality of life, just like the generations before them. The need to provide education, counseling, care and advocacy remains as critical today as it was 80 years ago when the Lighthouse first opened its doors. Please join us in our mission and see why the Lighthouse of Houston is a model agency for service provision and advocacy."
