When a person loses their vision, often mental health is impacted. The Behavioral Health Services Department at The Lighthouse of Houston helps people adjust to their vision loss. We have licensed clinicians who specialize in the treatment of various mental health disorders associated with vision loss including depression, anxiety, stress, anger issues, family issues, relationship issues, and many others. We also work with individuals and families to assist them in dealing with a variety of issues affecting independence and productivity.
We accept most major third party insurance payers, such as Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Aetna, as well as many others. Those working with The Texas Workforce Solutions can often receive services funded by TWC. We also have a cash discount program for those who do not have insurance or want to pay out of pocket. The only eligibility requirement for someone to receive behavioral health services is to have an ability to pay (third-party insurance, TWC, or self-pay) for the services.
