The Lighthouse of Houston has partnered with the community since 1939 to deliver programs and services to individuals living with visual impairment or blindness. We are always looking for community partners to help us better serve and advance our mission to ensure all ages and all stages of vision loss can become independent members of society.
The Vision Rehabilitation Clinic provides low vision evaluations, adaptive visual ads, training and education to those with impaired vision. Partnering with school districts, colleges and businesses to be the low vision provider for school aged kids as well as adults will give these individuals the proper eye care they need.
The Lighthouse of Houston employs individuals who are blind and visually impaired to perform job duties such as, transcription, mail sorting, call center, document scanning and packaging materials or goods. If you are looking to outsource work to be performed in one of these customer service or products related areas, we are here for you. Our employees are highly skilled, trained and passionate about their work.
Are you or your company looking to give back to the Greater Houston Community? We have group partnership opportunities and individual volunteer opportunities that will help fulfill your need to give back.
The Lighthouse of Houston works directly with local, state and federal agencies who purchase our re-packaged products such as, soap, disinfectant, pumice, DVD/flash drives or scrub hand towelettes. We also do small to large kit assembly. We assemble these kits and return them to the agency to be sold in the market place.
Texas Workforce Commission has been an outstanding partner to us. Through their referral program, we are able to provide a variety of services to those in need.
