The Lighthouse of Houston has a variety of products and services for the visually impaired that we sell to government agencies and businesses all over the country. We are uniquely positioned to employ visually impaired or blind individuals because of the vocational and educational training we provide. These employees perform the jobs associated with our products and services division.
Lighthouse of Houston employees who are blind or visually impaired are trained in basic office skills including keyboarding, windows (with or without adaptive software), basic telephone system terminology, customer service, phone etiquette and basic switchboard operations. The Lighthouse of Houston can manage your call center operations or train blind or visually impaired employees on these job functions.
The Lighthouse of Houston provides individuals who are blind or visually impaired with the basic skills needed to sort and deliver mail. We can manage your company's mail center or train blind or visually impaired employees on the basic job functions required of a mail center employee.
We partner with like-minded organizations who help further our mission of serving the blind and visually impaired community. Some of our partners include United Way, National Industries for the Blind, Texas Workforce Commission, WorkQuest, Crystal Vision and the Delta Gamma Foundation.
