The Lighthouse of Houston has many resources for the blind or visually impaired. One of those resources is our Reflections Store. The Reflections Store has a large selection of over 250 adaptive aids including mobility canes, magnifying devices, talking electronics and MetroLift tickets.
The Lighthouse of Houston also has two Independent Living Centers as well as an Assisted Living facility that provide housing resources to the blind and low-vision community. More information may be found below.

Lighthouse Living Centers I and II are located in Southwest Houston and offer independent living for blind and visually impaired individuals. Multi-Family housing HUD 202 Section 8 subsidized housing rent is determined by the individual or family's income level including allowable expenses. Residents may qualify for provider services through Health and Human Services Commission to assist with activities of daily living to maintain independent living in the community. Submit the application to be added to the wait list of one or both properties.
Lighthouse Living Center I is located at 10600 Hazen Road Houston, TX 77072.
Lighthouse Living Center II is located at 8650 Wednesbury Lane Houston, TX 77074.
The Lighthouse of Houston has two licensed Assisted Living Facilities located at 820 Marston. These facilities offer 10 private bedrooms in total with a full bathroom in each room. The homes were built in 2017 and are modern with a home-like environment including a full kitchen, dining, living area and outdoor patio. Our staff is trained and available 24 hours a day to offer assistance with activities of daily living, medication administration and to prepare daily home cooked meals served family style. A monthly room and board fee includes 24-hour care, meals, assistance with medication administration and cleaning services. Deaf Blind Medicaid Waiver program offers case management, residential services, and a licensed Day Hab program along with 24 hour Assisted Living. Our program is not accepting new applicants at this time.
